Abstract

The cartilage is a specialized mesechymal tissue entitled to resist stresses subjected to it with mechanical efficiency but being avascular is a major problem in the context of chondral injuries so there is no inflammation and no healing so methods are currently used to augment the healing of articular cartilage. Amongst them is the chondrocyte transplantation where transplanted autogenous chondrocytes are used to fill articular cartilage defects and it yielded very good promising results in cartilage healing.
