Abstract

Recurrence of intracranial meningiomas ortumor progression after surgical excision rangedbetween 10-32% of cases within 10 years.Recurrence of intracranial meningioma isgenerally controlled by many factors includingpatient's age and sex, location and histopathologictype of the tumor, period of follow-up, extent ofsurgical excision and adjuvant therapy. The extent ofsurgical removal is an important factor affectingrecurrence or progression of meningiomas. Those whohad complete removal achieved the longest mean free intervalcompared to those who had incompletemeningioma removal
