Abstract

Transconjunctival bleb Needle revision in conjunction with subconjunctival antimetabolite injection has been used in 50 eyes of patients with failed filtering blebs, under 12 years of age. Success was defined as IOP ≤ 18mmHg without medications. Group A (25 eyes) received 5-FU and have shown more favourable results (40% success) than group B( 25 eyes) who received MMC (24% success). More serious complications were observed in group B. Success was significantly related to lower IOP (,25mmHg) prior to needling and to the level of dissection required for reestablishment of filtration.
