Abstract

Ischemic heart diseases and other complications of atherosclerosis are the most common cause of death in chronic dialysis patients .Atherosclerosis is an inflammatory disease.C-reactive protein ,the acute phase reactant has been proved to have close relationship to future cardiovascular risk in general population and in end stage renal disease patients. Ceruloplasmin ,an acute phase reactant ,has been reported to be associated with incidence of atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular disease in general population but little information is available regarding dialysis patients. Elevated C-reactive protein level was found to be significantly associated with atherosclerosis. Elevated ceruloplasmin level was found also to be significantly associated with atherosclerosis .Ceruloplasmin was found to be significantly correlated with C-reactive protein .
