Abstract

Obesity is a rapidly growing epidemic. Unfortunately, conservative therapies in morbidly obese patients have failed to provide a sustainable weight loss. Laparoscopic gastric banding operation may be associated with a variety of complications (operative, early and late postoperative ). Our present study is a randomized retrospective study that is based on 10 morbidly obese patients who were treated by laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding but experienced a variety of complications. The aim of the study is to demonstrate the possible side effects and complications ( operative, early and late postoperative ) of laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding ( LAGB ) and their proper management.
