Diffuse large B-cell lymphomas represent the most frequently type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. Molecular abnormalities of the cell death-cell viability balance have emerged as important prognostic indications of diffuse large B-cell lymphomas. A candidate molecule to influence the apoptotic balance in cancer was survivin as member of the inhibitor of apoptosis gene family. Survivin expression may be considered a new unfavorable prognostic factor of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
