This study was planned to show the epidemiological profile of patients admitted to the emergency room. To fulfill this objective, a descriptive cross-sectional study was designed to analyze the records of the patients admitted to the emergency room suffering of respiratory problems for the year of 2004 and first half of 2005.Respiratory tract emergencies constituted the highest percentage (29.2% for the year of 2004 and 34.2% for the year of 2005) from the total numbers admitted to the emergency room for the studied years.
