Abstract

Ketofol appears to be a safe and effective alternative for inductionin patients with acyanotic congenital heart disease. It permits preservationof hemodynamic stability with minimalrespiratoryside effects.Sevoflurane is an inhalational anaesthetic that has a rapid onset and offsetdue to lower solubility in blood. It is pungent, non irritant agent thatmakes it suitable for inhalational induction agent for children. It is notusual to observe slowing in the heart rate during its use for induction. Ithas less arrhythmogenic potential, less negative inotropic effect on theheart, and easy control of depth of anesthesia.
