Abstract

Cardiovascular complications represent major causes of both morbidity and mortality in hemodialysis patients.Homocysteine levels are markedly elevated in end stage renal disease patients on regular hemodialysis. These patients are more prone to the atherogenic risk factors such as age, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, smoking and dyslipidemia in addition to hyperhomocysteinemia.
