Abstract

Combination therapy of transarterial chemoembolization followedby radiofrequency ablation is safe and effective for extending the ablatedarea, thereby contributing to restricting local tumor progression inpatients with BCLC A especially for intermediate-sized HCCs.Radioembolization with 90Y microspheres represents an innovativeapproach that has gained increasing awareness and clinical use during thepast years with specific peer-reviewed literature supports this type oftreatment, which can be used safely with encouraging survival especiallyin patients with BCLC B, or C for whom there are few other alternatives.
