Neurological disorders are commonly encountered in the critical care setting; resulting in ICU admission or acquired during treatment of critical illness. These include neuromuscular disorders, cognitive dysfunction, delirium, seizures and cerebrovascular accidents. Understanding the risk factors and methods of early management and prevention of these disorders is essential for the intensivist as part of the multisystem critical care.
