Abstract

The first is to retain the lugament and to preserve as much posible of theNormal anatomy and function of the knee. Preservation of the ligament isthought to enhance stability and allowing femoral rollback to improveknee flexion. This increases the mechanical advantage of the quadricepsmuscle and prevents unpredictable cyclical loading patterns wgich mayby transferred to the cement implant and cement bone interfaces.
