Neurologic complications of collagen vascular disorders are common in children. SLE is the most common collagen vascular disorder with neurological manifestations. 36 children with CNS lupus were collected from the outpatient clinic. All of them had musculoskeletal manifestations, while 83.3% of them had renal troubles. These manifestations were more common in female and presented mostly after short duration of the disease. Headache was the most common neurological manifestation presented in 72.2% of our children as a single manifestation or accompanied with other neurological manifestations. Motor disturbances were the second most common neurological manifestation presented in 61.1% of our children. Lab investigations were not helpful for detection or screening of neurological problems. SPECT was highly sensitive in diagnosing neurological problems followed by EEG, while CT was not helpful in detection or prediction of the neurological manifestations.
