Abstract

This current prospective study was conducted during the period from January 2004 till April 2005, to evaluate tubularized incised plate urethroplasty in cases of distal penile hypospadias without chordee. The study involved 30 patients, their age ranged from 6 month to 11 years, with a mean value of 4.2 years; they included 8 cases with recurrent hypospadias and 22 cases with primary hypospadias. Out of 30 patients, in 17 cases a second covering layer was used to cover the neourethra either by a tunica vaginalis flap or a dartos facsia flap and in 13 cases the neourethra was done without a second covering layer. Out of the 30 cases, 7 cases were complicated with a fistula and the results of the other 23 cases were satisfactory.
