Misoprostol is a prostaglandin E1 analogue which was found to have effective applications in obstetrics as it causes cervical ripening and termination of labor at any stage plus its effect to inhibit postpartum bleeding. It became popular worldwide because of being effective, cheap, easily stored and relatively safe. However ,more and more drawbacks and side effects are discovered every year and more researches are needed.
