Abstract
We compared the gastric emptying time (GET) in chronic renal failure patients on conservative treatment in early azotemic phase, in late uremic phase and haemodialysis patients with the GET of normal healthy persons (control group). Then we compared our results of the late uremic patients with the GET of the same group after using gastrokinetic drugs. We studied gastric emptying time using radioisotopic scanning of a labeled semi solid meal. We found that at different stages of renal failure there is significant delay in GET which differs from each group to the other.
