After fixation of the allograft to the host bone, union is expected to occur with an onlay collar of new bone formed by the host and surrounding the graft for a short distance. This union, added to the fixation device used and the reconstruction of soft tissue around the new joint, would create a reasonably functioning limb with a mobile knee joint . In Egyt, the use of massive allografts, retrieved from living donors, started with the inauguration of the Center of Preservation and Transplantation of Musculoskeletal tissues (Bone Bank). From the year 1998 to the year 2003, 17 distal femoral osteoarticular allografts were implanted for benign and malignant lesions of the distal femur. Throughout these 5 years, various complications were observed and managed.
