Abstract

In the study, the use of labetalol in management of severe preeclamptic patients showed comparable measure to magnesium. The effect of labetalol is through controlling of blood pressure and control of heart rate. Thus we concluded that labetalol can be used as effectively as magnesium as a cardiopeotective agent in management of severe preeclamptic patients. However, more studies should be done to study the long term maternal outcome as regard the manifestations of preeclampsia and troponin level
