Acceptable root coverage can be achieved in class I and II marginal tissue recessions using Alloderm or PRF membrane combined with coronally positioned flap with no significant differences between both groups, in the Alloderm group statistically significant changes were noted throughout the follow up periods (baseline-3months, baseline-6 months) while in the PRF group significant changes were noted only through baseline-6 months which emphasizes the need for a longer observation period as regards the PRF group, in the PRF group, less postoperative discomfort and tenderness of the involved area was reported when compared to the alloderm sites, in addition to its ease of application, it has the advantage of being an autologous, biocompatible and viable biomaterial, PRF may be a good alternative to alloderm in treatment of gingival recession since alloderm is of a high cost and not all patients can afford it.
