Abstract

ED is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficiently rigid for sexual intercourse, Leptin is considered one of the most important markers of obesity as defects in leptin production cause severe obesity, assessment of serum level of leptin, free and total testosterone in male obese and non obese patients with erectile dysfunction was done and it was found that there is statistically no significant difference between serum leptin level of obese and non obese patients having different grades of ED although there is a correlation between serum leptin and BMI. Moreover a negative correlation was found between serum leptin and free testosterone.
