Abstract

The most accepted trends followed nowadays in treatment of endometriosis are the induction of pseudopregnancy state by the help of progestogens with the advantage of being cheap and the induction of pseudomenopause state by the aid of Danazol and GnRH analogues therapy with the superiority of GnRH analogues being more potent and with no androgenic effects. Also, there are some promising treatments as PRMs and aromatase inhibitors. The new surgical approach of endometriosis includes the use of laparoscopic surgery in removal of the endometriotic implants or a chocolate cyst in the ovary as well as the use of LASER in fulgration of these implants with the resultant of a good homeostatic lysis of adhesions without injury to adjacent tissues. But the only satisfactory treatment for adenomyosis is Hysterectomy. In brief, the most important point to be followed in the management of endometriosis is the good diagnosis of the cases according to the clinical picture confirmed by laparoscopy then selection of the best treatment suitable for the case whether medical or surgical.
