Abstract

During the period from January 1998 through October 2001, forty-two patients with different malignant diseases were salvaged by high dose chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplant in bone marrow transplantation unit- El Manial specialized hospital - Cairo University. Among These patients; 20, 12, 8 and 2 patients, had breast cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia respectively. At median follow up period of (34) months, the actuarial over all survival for relapsed HD patients was (33% at 30 month) while for relapsed NHL patients; it was (33% at 30 month) where as the actuarial event free survival was (24%), (17%) for relapsed HI) and relapsed NHL patients respectively.
