Abstract

Ocular injuries are usually resulting in visual impairment and possibly total blindness with permanent infirmity as a final outcome.Retrospective study was performed on eye injured cases presented to the Medico-legal Administration from 1st January 2011 to 31 December 2011.Male gender was the majority in eye injured cases with percentage (95%).The mean age was 28.52± 10.91 years. Cases suffered ocular injuries in Cairo were 59% and Giza represented 41%. The infirmity was present in 85% of total cases.Eye injuries with resultant permanent infirmity are major problem and need restricted measures to be solved.
