Abstract

A decrease in segmental pressure between two segments indicates significant disease. Additionally, ultrasound duplex scans are used to identify the site of a lesion by revealing flow disturbance and velocity changes. Other non invasive imaging technologies, such as MRI and CTA, are rapidly evolving and gaining popularity for diagnosing lower-extremity SFA occlusive disease. Contrast angiography remains the gold standard.
