Abstract

They both increase significantly after controlled, self- limiting inflammatory response to cardiac surgery has important beneficial effects such as immune system priming, which may aid in preventing perioperative infection and promoting wound healing Potential adverse effects include dysfunction in respiratory system, in the form of acute lung injury and respiratory failure; cardiovascular function in the form of myocardial injury; hepatic and renal dysfunction, neurologic cognitive defects, hemostatic defects and immunosupression.
