Abstract

Once STAT is activated it translocates into the nucleus and activates target genes as genes encoding for antiapoptotic molecules, such as BCL-XL. EPO also activates phosphorylation of the inhibitor of nuclear factor Kappa B, allowing the release of the transcription factor NF-kB, itstranslocation into the nucleus and activation of target genes thatencode for antiapoptotic proteins.
