Carotid intima media thickness is very important in assessing risk of atherosclerosis and should be performed annually for HD patients.Pentraxin 3 assay whenever possible should be assessed for HD patients and those at risk of developing atherosclerosis.More research should be done on benefits of statin therapy in HD patients as anti-inflammatory drug.
