Solomon introduced the term grandmultipara (GMP) in 1934. The number of previous deliveries varies from 5 to 8. Other researches mentioned that Solomons first introduced the term the dangerous Multipara in 1936.The grand multipara has been described as "dangerous" and "unpredictable". Several reports dating from the 1970's indicate that grand multiparous women run a higher risk of pregnancy complications and perinatal mortality than other parturients. There are, however, also reports of no increase or even decreased perinatal mortality (PNM) and low birth weight (LBW) in grand multipara than in women of lower parity. Problems associated with grandmultipara are numerous and include obstetrics, gynecological and social problems.
