Abstract

The sphenoid sinus has attracted growing attention over the past decade. Of all the three single cavity paranasal sinuses, it is the sinus with the most anatomic variability. This variability can occur in the number and position of septa, extent and degree of pneumatization as well as the relationship of the sinus to adjacent structures, including the internal carotid artery, optic nerve, maxillary nerve and Vidian nerve.
