Abstract

This study offered a new technique with safe and effective drug that allow decrease postoperative pain following the inguinal herinoplasty without or with minimum intraoperative analgesic use. With wound infiltration by tramadol, the amount of fentanyl intraoperatively required was decreased, the time to first pethidine use was prolonged, the total analgesic consumption in 24 hours was reduced and the patients and surgeon satisfaction was increased when compared to bupivacaine treated group. Side effects like nausea and vomiting were detected during study.
