Dexamethasone is a potent synthetic glucocorticoid which is used in the treatment of many inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis and systemic lupus. The aim of the present study was to demonstrate the short and long term effects of dexamethasone on gastric mucosa of the body of the stomach of adult albino male rat and to evaluate the possible protective role of misoprostol and omeprazole in preventing the hazardous effects on the stomach.
