Deliberate hypotension represents a great challenge tothe anaesthetist. Deliberate hypotension is effective indecreasing blood loss and provides better visibility in surgicalfield. There are corner stones to achieve a safe level ofhypotension which maintain adequate perfusion to main vitalorgans. These corner stones includes: clinical considerations,techniques, monitoring, reversal of hypotension and problems& complications. The precise incidence of complications withdeliberate hypotension is difficult to determine so the decisionto use deliberate hypotension should not be made in theoperating room without careful consideration of the potentialcomplications.
