Reconstruction of the facial defects has always been a difficult problem because of the limited availability of local tissues and donor site morbidity. Facial defects that need reconstruction may be the result of post burn deformity, post operative, post traumatic and congenital diseases. In this thesis, the anatomy of the face and its aesthetic components, the etiology of facial soft tissue defects and different techniques used in the reconstruction of forehead, lower eye lids, upper and lower lips, nose and cheek defects by using varieties of covering modalities that respects units and subunits principle which states: defects should be altered in size, shape, depth and position to allow the reconstruction of units, not defects. Facial units should be restored; defects should not simply be patched.
