Abstract

The clinical study was set to determine the effectiveness of transconjunctival frontalis suspension in patients with blepharoptosis and poor levator function.13 patients with 21 ptotic eyelids were treated with prolene and 9 patients were treated with fascia lata with a total of 12 eyelids.Healing was normal with no post operative swelling or edema or infection some failure encountered during and after eyelid suspension with fascia lata together with the lengthy operation for harvesting the fascia. Prolene exhibits satisfactory result and ease in manipulation with complication or failure. Transconjunctival frontalis suspension technique for treatment of severe ptosis, with poor levator function to be technically easy and simple and time saving.
