Abstract

Specific Language Impairment is associated with impairments in shorttermmemory. A hallmark of Specific Language Impairment is thataffected children have severe deficits in one measure associated with shortterm memory that exceed even the language impairments .Thirty normallanguage development children between 4-7 years old and thirty childrenwith specific language impairment have been examined. Short termmemory evaluation is done to each child through short term memorysubtest of Stanford binet test version four. The result of the evaluation ofshort term memory suggests that there is a high incidence of verbal(auditory) short term memory affection in children with specific languageimpairment.
