Abstract

Accurate diagnosis of metastatic lymph nodes is of utmost importance before starting therapy of head and neck carcinomas. CT and MRI rely on certain anatomical and structural criteria. PET/CT fusion imaging, combined the functional imaging (PET) by detection of the metabollic activity of the afffected nodes together with accurate anatomical localization in the same setting, improved the early diagnosis of metastatic head and neck lymmph nodes
