Retrospective descriptive study was conducted to determinethe prevalence and relative frequency of cardiac abnormalitiesdiagnosed by echocardiography Unit in pediatric Hospital, CairoUniversity during a period of 2 years (January 2005-December2006).Congenital Heath diseases was the most frequent cardiacabnormalities (89.94%) and the most frequent defects ware VSI(39.18%) , ASD (24.71%) and PS (13.19%) Rhumatic Heart diseasewas the second cardiac abnormalities (5.25%) with femalpredominant and mitral regurgitation was the commonest cardiaclesion in RHD cordiomyopathy was the less frequent type of cardiacabnormalities (4.79%)
