Abstract

The study was performed in Pathology Department, Faculty ofmedicine, Cairo University, Kasr El Ainy Hospital and National CancerInstitute. Data collected during the period between 2000 and 2007constituted a retrospective study. The pathology charts was reviewed for1687 men who had undergone radical cystoprostatectomy for bladdercancer. To evaluate the incidence, histological features and significance ofincidentally discovered adenocarcinoma of the prostate in RCP specimensin Egyptian bladder cancer patients. It has been clearly concluded that although the incidence ofadenocarcinoma of the prostate in RCP specimens in Egyptian cancerbladder patients is low compared to similar studies for a reasons related toimproper histopathological study of the prostate in RCP specimens andother factors, we suggest thorough histopathological analysis of theprostate.
