Abstract

Objective : This study was designed to compare endocrine tests (FSH,LH, E2, Inh-b) and measurement of ovarian volum with respect to theirability to estimate ovarian response.Design: prospective study. (At Misr International Hospital and MahmoudHospital). Methods: A total of 90 regulars menstruating patients undergoing theirfirst IVF cycle among them 60 patients ≥35 years and 30 patients < 35years.Intervention: Measurement of CD3 FSH, LH, E2, Inh-β and ovarianvolume. down regulation was achieved with either long or short agonistprotocol and induction of ovulation started by 300 IU HMG in young agegroup and 450 IU in old age group.Main outcome measure: CD7 AFC > 10mm and serum E2. Again AFC ≥16mm and peak serum E2 on the day of injection of HCG.Results: univariate linear regression analysis showed that FSH, FSH/LH,Inh-β, SCD7 E2 and sCD7AFC > 10mm were independent predictors ofovarian reserve. Multiple linear regression analysis showed thatsCD7AFC, b-Inh-β , Age, b-FSH, were the best predictors. Conclusions: Among all the investigated predictors sCD7 AFC >10mmwas the best predictor of OR in all the patients followed by Inh-β, Ag andCD3 b-FSH.
