RCES is defined as recurrent spontaneous corneal abrasions thatoccur due to minor trauma as eye lid movement.Anatomically the epithelium is tightly attached to the underlyingstroma by strong adhesions called hemidesmosomes that are formed ofcollagen fibrils, at this level all the histopathological events occur.
