Abstract

In a trial to evaluate the functional status of the bronchial system in allergicrhinitis and studying the clinical and physiologic links between allergic rhinitisand asthma, this study was carried out on 107 patients with allergic rhinitis.53.3% of them proved to have asthma and 28.03% proved to have differentgrades of bronchial hyper-reactivity. BHR positive patients had lower FEF 25-75 values than BHR negative. There was a positive correlation between degreeof BHR and eosinophils in blood and sputum.
