Abstract

Preeclampsia has been identified as the leading reason forintensive care unit admissions in the puerperal period. Women withpreeclampsia have a 70% higher risk of placental abruption withincreasing disease severity. Effects on fetus and infant include stillbirth,preterm delivery, neonatal death and delayed growth.
