Abstract

Bleomycin is an effective antineoplastic drug. Its administration may be associated with lung inflammation and fibrosis. Albino rats were utilized to study the injurious effects of bleomycin on the lung and the possible protective role of dexamethasone and N-acetyl cysteine. This study showed that bleomycin induced lung damage in albino rats. This damage could be reduced by co-administration of dexamethasone or N-acetyl cysteine with bleomycin.
