Abstract

This side-by-side prospective study compares clearance rate, satisfaction, and complications after Nd YAG, Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) and Intense pulsed light(IPL).Ninety patients with lower limb microvaricosities, divided into 3 groups(Group I,II,III), each has thirty patients , underwent treatment by Nd YAG ,PDL and IPL respectively. The clearance rate, satisfaction level and complication were recorded before and after completing treatment by 4 weeks where the patient had been pictured before and after treatment by 4 weeks. The clearance index (CI) after Nd YAG, PDL and IPL was 36.6%, 90 % and 73.3 % respectively. The satisfaction index (SI) after Nd YAG, PDL and IPL was 46.6%. 93.3 % and 50 %.The complication rate was higher in PDL than in other light and laser modalities.
