Abstract

Many neonatal surgeries can be performed by thoracoscope eg: congenital diaphragmatic hernia, tracheophegeal fistula and patent ductus arteriosus. In conclusion, we believe that the procedure of thoracoscopic CDH repair is feasible in the neonatal population. The use of single lung ventilation allowed better visualization of operative field that resulted in short operative time without any detrimental effect on hemodynamic and / or respiratory variables. Further studies are warranted to determine the safety of using this technique in more sick children with pulmonary hypertension.
