Ciliochoroidal effusion is an accumulation of fluid in the potential space between the sclera externally and the choroid and ciliary body internally. The reduction of intraocular pressure promotes vascular engorgement and transudation in the suprachoroidal space. The causes are Trauma of the eye and postoperative as after cataract extraction, after glaucoma filtering procedures. Postoperative ciliochoroidal effusion is managed either medically by hyperosmotic agents, topical and systemic steroids and cycloplegic agents. Or surgically by drainage of suprachoroidal fluid through sclerotomy in a suitable position.
