Purpose: Tear film examination after clear cornea phacoemulsification. Method: group (A):22 patients complaining of discomfort in their eyes and group(B): included 10 patients with no complaint postoperatively as a control group. Results: There was difference in rose bengal staining. There was decrease in the levels of total lipids, phospholipids, total proteins, molecular weight of tear lysozyme and changes in the electrophoresis in group (A). Conclusion: There were significant changes in nature of the tear film.
