Abstract

This study included 65 patients proved to be HCC less than 5 cm in diameter, divided into 2 groups. Group 1 (PEI): 40 patients, Group 2 (PAI): 25 patients. Post treatment response was assessed by alpha-fetoprotein, Power Doppler, FNAC, tissue biopsy and Spiral C.T. The response rate was higher in PEI treated patients than PAI treated ones in PEI the 6, 12 and 18 months Survival rates were 86%, 69.4 %, 59 % respectively, and in PAI the 6, 12 and 18 months Survival rates were 72%, 53 %, 47 % respectively.
