Abstract

IntroductionPremature ovarian failure (POF) is a heterogenous syndrome defined as hypoestrogenic hypergonadotropic secondary amenorrhea that occurs in women under the age of 40 years. It is characterized by loss of oocytes, lack of folliculogenesis and ovarian estrogen production, and infertility.Stem cells are rare primitive cells which can be defined by their capacity to self renew as well as to differentiate into one or more mature cell types.Material and Method60 female rat included in this study, 45 rat had induced ovarian failure by cyclophosohamide by I.P injection, 15 rat received nothing, 15 rat received saline and 15 rat received MSCs.Follow up was done every 2weeks by FSH, E2 levels, vaginal smear, histo-pathology of ovarian tissue and PCR for detection of MSCs chromosome in the ovarian tissue.ResultsThe hormonal findings were still confirmed by histopathological examination as well as cytological vaginal smears .Furthermore, the PCR examination of sry gene expression present further evidence of stem cell incorporation into the ovarian structure
