Abstract

Systemic lupus erythromatos¬is is a multiorgan autoimmune disease characterized by immune dysregulationThe immune dysregulation that leads to overt SLE is complex, but has 2 main characteristics, one is B lymphocytes hyperactivity and immunoglobulin repertoire changes causing both increased spontaneous production of immunoglobulin and autoantibody production. The impaired cell-mediated immunity results from both T lymphocyte and antigen-presenting cell dysfunction. The deficient cell mediated responses and hyperactivity of B cells in SLE could be explained by abnormal relative production of Th1 and Th2 type cytokines.
